Experienced Level | Enclosure Design & Validation

Protonest is looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and validation of mechanical enclosures for our cutting-edge IoT devices. You will be responsible for balancing waterproofing, thermal performance, and manufacturability to deliver scalable hardware solutions.

What You'll Be Doing:

Design enclosure architectures for IoT products with IP63–IP68 ratings.
Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings with GD&T using SolidWorks.
Develop components using plastic injection molding, die-casting, and sheet-metal fabrication.
Perform tolerance stack-ups, drop/impact FEA, and thermal analysis.
Prototype designs using SLA/FDM 3D printing and CNC machining.
Lead DFM/DFx discussions and tooling reviews with manufacturing partners.
Collaborate with electronics teams on RF, antenna, and EMC considerations.
Execute rigorous validation tests including drop, vibration, salt spray, and water-jet testing.

What We're Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on product design experience.
Proven experience in delivering IP-rated enclosures for electronics or IoT.
Deep understanding of sealing strategies such as gaskets, O-rings, and coatings.
Experience working closely with manufacturing partners and external suppliers.
Strong documentation skills (revision control, ECOs, and engineering reports).
