IoT Project Manager Job Vacancy at Protonest

Role Insights: The Strategic Value of IoT Project Management

Unlike traditional software project management, an IoT Project Manager must navigate the complexities of physical hardware logistics alongside digital development cycles. At Protonest, this role is the glue that keeps firmware engineers, cloud architects, and hardware designers in sync.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the device–cloud workflows are seamless, which often involves troubleshooting hardware dependencies that can impact software timelines. This position offers a unique vantage point on the entire product ecosystem, making it a high-impact leadership role within the company.

Interview Preparation Tips:

  • Technical Coordination: Be ready to explain a time you managed a project that involved both physical hardware and cloud-based software.
  • Risk Mitigation: In IoT, supply chain issues or hardware bugs can halt progress. Discuss how you proactively identify and mitigate these specific risks.
  • Agile in IoT: Explain how you adapt Scrum or Kanban ceremonies to teams that have different development speeds (e.g., fast software sprints vs. longer hardware prototyping).
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Highlight your ability to simplify complex technical bottlenecks into actionable business reports for management.
