Imports Coordinator Job Vacancy at Fabric Park

Role Insights: The Dynamics of Import Coordination

An Imports Coordinator acts as the vital bridge between international suppliers and local production. In the textile and fabric industry, this role is particularly sensitive to global market fluctuations and shipping timelines. Mastery of payment methods like LC (Letters of Credit) and TT (Telegraphic Transfer) is crucial for maintaining supplier trust and financial compliance.

Effective coordination with Sri Lanka Customs and clearing agents ensures that raw materials reach the factory floor without costly delays. This position requires a proactive mindset to anticipate regulatory changes and logistical bottlenecks before they impact the supply chain.

Interview Preparation Tips for Supply Chain Roles:

  • Prepare to discuss your specific experience with the ASYCUDA system or other customs clearance software.
  • Be ready to explain how you have previously handled a shipment delay or a dispute with a foreign supplier.
  • Review your understanding of Incoterms (CIF, FOB, EXW) as they are frequently discussed in import role interviews.
  • Highlight your ability to multitask under pressure, especially when managing multiple open LCs and shipments simultaneously.
